Below is some general information about my tortoise boarding services, but for specific information please click on the relevant link above or feel free to contact me. 

As part of the boarding service, I can send you photos of your pets while they are staying with us. Even if you do not check your e-mails until you get home, they will be waiting for you to see. This is at no extra cost.

If you do not have an e-mail and have a mobile phone I can text you to let you know how your pet is getting on.

This is also at no extra cost.

The care your tortoise receives while staying with us includes:

• I offer limited spaces to ensure I offer a personal service to meet all the animals’ needs. I provide the tortoise tables and outdoor run areas. You will need to provide your tortoises lights and lamps. I cannot provide this equipment.
• Fresh water every day (in table and run area to drink, and a chance to have a drink in their own personal bath at the end of a long day). I take great care to ensure animals don’t overheat, where all tortoises will have access to a shaded area, which will consist of a hide area and a sunshade which will consist of a blanket, aswell as a basking area. They will be in the garden everyday, during the warm weather to make sure they have enough exercise and they are cool enough, where they will be supervised regularly.
• Each guest has their own bucket, these are used exclusively for that guest/s. These are thoroughly cleaned with hot soapy water, and disinfected (Anigene disinfectant) in between guests using them. The guests name/s are put on the bucket to ensure they do not get mixed up with other guests buckets.
• Run areas and tortoise table’s are spot cleaned everyday and cleaned as needed throughout your tortoises stay.
• All tortoise tables, runs, huts, and all items used by guests are thoroughly cleaned with hot soapy water, rinsed, and sprayed with pet and reptile safe (vet approved) disinfectant, after every visit to prevent the spread of infection. The areas the runs are standing on are thoroughly washed and disinfected so that the areas are thoroughly clean for whoever is next on that area of the garden.
• Bath time for all tortoises. They also have their own personal drying towel for their stay. These are washed in the washing machine and dried before being used again. All tortoises will have their own bath and towel so not too cross contaminate with other tortoises.
• Daily vegetables (depending on individual requirements). This included weeds being picked freshly from the garden. We never use any pesticides but still rinse all food under the cool tap before giving to any tortoises.
• Daily health check.
• All pets will have their own individual run which they will go out in daily (depending on weather) . This will be used exclusively by them and them alone. This means that all guests will not have to wait for a turn in the garden each day.
• Shell care (if requested/required)
• I can administer certain medication but please check with me what medication your pet requires, and how it is administered. I need to know this before a booking can be made.
• All tortoises are brought in at night, and will sleep in their boxes/tortoise table in the safety of the locked house. No tortoises will be left outside at night under any circumstances.
• Depending on weather conditions, all animals are exercised daily in runs outside. If there is rain, then runs will be covered over with waterproof sheeting, so pets can enjoy the outside but keep dry at the same time. In the event of torrential rain/thunderstorms, and/or temperature drop  all animals will be returned to the house, where they go into their tortoise table.  Just like the outdoor area they will be assigned their own tortoise table.
• All animals have daily interaction and handling.
• I am located 20 minuits from a veterinary practice, with which we are registered.
• You can provide bedding for your pets stay. Whether this is newspaper or anything else, just in case I need to clean their bed out during their stay.
• You will need to provide any other food for your tortoise (if needed or wanted). This includes pellet food, calcium powder or cuttlefish.
• When you bring your tortoise to stay you need to provide a box of some sort to transport them in. This only needs to be a cardboard, wooden or plastic box. They may also sleep in this at night.
• I wash my hands thoroughly between handling different tortoises.
